Head of Programmes

Due to an increase in new and exciting business, we are currently seeking a Head of Programmes (with a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience) to take up a key senior role in our team on a full time, permanent basis.  The Head of Programmes will deputise for the Director and take full responsibility for the design, fabrication and delivery of projects through the effective management of resources, budgets and against project timescales. 

The post holder will be granted the autonomy to take control of projects and for the management of the studio overall; this therefore requires a strong personality and someone who can deputise for the Director, who is unafraid of responsibility and has the gravitas to command authority and control of a team who will look to them for direction, support and training as needed. 

Key tasks:

  • Direct, manage and coordinate projects to ensure the timely delivery of works to a high standard and within timescales.
  • Oversee logistics for production and delivery, advising the Director of work programmes, budgetary constraints and project timescales.
  • Lead our team of fabricators and designers, drawing on industry experience and specialist knowledge of materials and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality works that surpasses client expectations.
  • Manage communication between our team, collaborators and clients to ensure effective engagement and coordinated delivery of work.
  • Advise, support and mentor team members, ensuring their development and engagement through supportive and collaborative working practices.
  • Support the Director in identifying and developing business growth opportunities through the development of strategies and plans that can be adopted. 

Key requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience integrating design and production to deliver high quality projects.
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or vocational equivalent. 
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise of fabrication methods, processes and materials.
  • Highly competent in using technology (PC and MAC, CAD design, Adobe CC) 
  • Leadership experience of team management within a creative environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills – written and spoken. 
  • Strong business development experience and of tendering for new business.
