Breccia Marble and Brass Coffee Tables

Peter Mikic, London

We were approached to develop a methodology to fabricate this series of nesting tables, designed by Peter Mikic.  These baroque pieces feature breccia marble tops and solid brass legs affixed to a laser-cut steel base plate.

The elegant junction between brass and marble is a feature of the finished table

Working from sketches provided by the client, our team produced detailed drawings in CAD to facilitate the development of a fabrication methodology.  This model allowed our specialist partners at Miber Engineering to manufacture the precise brass parts for the junction between the heavy table tops and slim, tapered legs.

Final assembly was completed in-house, with the legs being mechanically fixed to the steel base before the tops were glued into place.  Hidden fixings give the finished tables an elegant and effortless feel, with detailed preparation at the design stage allowing for the seamless integration between materials.
