This ambitious project for restaurant group Darwin & Wallace was completed in partnership with Red Deer, Box-9 Design and BB Contracts. Weber Industries managed the design, fabrication and installation of bespoke features throughout the venue. These include a unique cast Jesmonite bar, steel and mirror panelling, and bespoke furniture pieces. The project took full advantage of the broad range of facilities we have in our south-east London studio.

A total of twenty-four individually cast Jesmonite panels form a unique grand bar, produced entirely in-house (from modelling to mould-making, casting and the final construction on site). Terracotta pigmented panels with a specialist paint finish result in a decorative bar face; while a ‘cold-cast’ metal bar top provides a distinctive surface which has been buffed to a metallic satin polish and will take on character as it tarnishes and wears with use.
Mirror, glass and steel panelling clad the interior walls and create a feature of the theatre kitchen. The panelling was designed and fabricated in our studio, with our partners at Cutting Technologies providing all the laser cut steel parts.
A bespoke timber frontage of the french doors, with profiles created in-house, creates an impressive entrance to the venue. Numerous bespoke objects, also designed and fabricated in-house, furnish the spaces. These include a brass-plated lighting feature, oak booth seating, hardwood wall panelling, brass and steel coffee tables made in brass and steel, colourful sprayed table tops, oak and steel leaner ledges, waiter stations, glass and crackle-glaze steel shelving, and a further two bars.
