Metal Fabricator

We are looking for accomplished Metal Fabricators with site experience to join our team on a freelance basis. 

Metal Fabricators will work with initiative as part of our team to deliver a wide range of bespoke projects, with a focus on studio-based metal fabrication and on-site installation works. 

Structural welding experience, site experience and a current CSCS card (or equivalent) is essential.  A forklift license, lifting training and harness training is desirable.  

Metal Fabricators will assimilate their knowledge of design and making in order to develop effective fabrication methodologies and realise high-quality works appropriate to client briefs.  In all aspects of the role, Metal Fabricators will uphold the excellent standard of service that our clients and collaborators expect from Weber Industries. 


 Key tasks 

  • Work as part of our team in the studio and on site, bringing specialist knowledge of materials and processes—including structural fabrication and coded welding.
  • Work confidently and competently with fixed machinery, portable equipment and tools (with a focus on metalworking, but also including woodworking, CNC-machining, mould-making and casting).
  • Work confidently and competently with fabrication drawings.
  • Ensure your works are undertaken in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy, COVID-19 procedure and relevant RAMS.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area, with responsibility for ensuring your works are undertaken with care and consideration.
  • Manage your time effectively to ensure the team works together to meet the project deadline.
  • Foster good working relationships within the team, engendering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.


 Key requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience, including on site (essential)
  • Current CSCS card, or equivalent qualification (essential)
  • General metalworking tools and PPE (desirable)
  • Coded welding experience (desirable)
  • Forklift license (desirable)
  • Lifting training and harness training (desirable)
  • Experience with structural metalwork, welding, steel fixing and on-site installation (essential)
  • Experience with portable equipment and tools (essential)
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practice for compliance (essential)
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and comprehensive skills (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK without restrictions (essential)
