We are looking for a Designer/Project Manager to join our team on a freelance basis.
As a Designer/Project Manager, you will work as part of our team in the studio and on site to deliver bespoke projects at a range of scales, from design and client liaison to fabrication and installation. You will bring experience of design development and project management; with specialist skills in 3D modelling, architectural design and/or design for manufacture.
Rates of pay are competitive, dependent on experience.
Key tasks
- Work as part of our team to develop fabrication designs
- Use Rhino to create 3D models and drawings for fabrication
- Be the main point of contact for client liaison and maintain flow of communication within our team, including leading briefings for your project
- Work in collaboration with the fabrication team to deliver works in the studio and on site
- Contribute to project costings and manage issuing of valuations for your project as required
- Contribute to studio programme, including planning materials, resources, and site logistics for your project
- Ensure your works are undertaken in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy and relevant RAMS
- Maintain a clean and safe working area, with responsibility for ensuring your works are undertaken with care and consideration
- Manage your time effectively to ensure the team works together to meet the project deadline
- Foster good working relationships within the team, engendering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times
Key requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience (essential)
- Experience of architectural design and/or design for manufacture (essential)
- Experience of project management (essential)
- Experience with Rhino for 3D modelling and drawing (essential)
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practice for compliance (essential)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with ability to prioritise (essential)
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and comprehensive skills (essential)
- Right to work in the UK without restrictions (essential)
- Experience working on site in a construction environment (desirable)
- Experience with portable equipment and tools (desirable)
- Current CSCS card, or equivalent qualification (desirable)
