Casting Assistant

We are looking for enthusiastic Casting Assistants to join our team on a freelance basis. 

Casting Assistants will work alongside Fabricators in our studio to deliver an exciting, large-scale project with cast Jesmonite.  This is a fast-moving project, starting immediately for completion by the end of July 2021.

This role is suitable for recent graduates, as well as more experienced casting fabricators.  We offer competitive rates of pay based on skills and experience. 

Key tasks 

  • Work as part of our studio team on large-scale mould-making, Jesmonite casting and wood fabrication
  • Bring knowledge of materials and processes relevant to casting and mould-making
  • Work confidently and competently with portable equipment, tools and materials
  • Ensure your works are undertaken in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy, COVID-19 procedure and relevant RAMS
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area, with responsibility for ensuring your works are undertaken with care and consideration
  • Manage your time effectively to ensure the team works together to meet the project deadline 
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times


 Key requirements

  • Experience of mould-making and casting with Jesmonite (essential)
  • Experience working in a studio environment (essential)  
  •  Experience with portable equipment and tools (essential) 
  •  Experience working from design drawings (desirable) 
  •  Experience of woodwork or carpentry (desirable)
  • Current CSCS card, or equivalent qualification (desirable)
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practice for compliance (essential)
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and comprehensive skills (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK without restrictions (essential)
