Museum of Us

Fieldwork Facility and New London Architecture, London

The Museum of Us was designed to bring together members of the community around the Old Kent Road, with a temporary site and exhibition space which hosted a series of events.  As a local business, we were approached by Fieldwork Facility to support the fabrication of temporary display panels for the space.  We also hosted two workshops led by our team, one focussed on Jesmonite casting and the other on leatherworking.

Working to a tight budget, we fabricated this series of laser-cut and folded metal screens with a colourful paint finish.  The simple timber frame and stands created a lightweight but durable display.

In a time of great change in the area, the idea for the exhibition was to ask people to share ideas for what they love about their area, what they need from redevelopments, and how they imagine the future of the Old Kent Road.
