This series of adjustable mounts were designed and fabricated in-house for the Southbank Centre’s archive room and exhibition space. The bespoke kit of parts allows for the flexible assembly of mounts that support a range of artefacts, from small caption holders to large hardback books.
Adjustable archive mounts
Southbank Centre, London
The pieces were developed iteratively through sketches and prototypes to achieve a high level of adaptability, while maintaining an aesthetic simplicity and ease of assembly.
Intricate stainless steel components were laser cut by our partners at Cutting Technologies, before being finished in-house. Lateral supports achieve structural rigidity with a series of simple folds, while pairs of precisely manufactured feet engage with pegboard holes to ensure a snug fit for the mount. The delicate brass screws that complete the assembly add a final detail to these bespoke design objects.
