These upholstered mesh benches were designed by architects Casper Mueller Kneer for the interior of Self-Portrait's first London store on Albemarle Street. We were asked to fabricate two versions of the bench, including a small straight model and a larger curved style that responds to the architecture of the store.
Albemarle Mesh Bench
Casper Mueller Kneer for Self-Portrait, London

←The finished curved bench installed at self-portrait
The architect's design was drawn in CAD to facilitate the development of a fabrication methodology. The steel frame was inset with a steel mesh specified by CMK, before being finished ready for powder coating at our specialist partners Bradleys Metal Finishers.

Each bench features bespoke upholstered cushions, which were fabricated in-house. Kvadat fabric, as specified by the client, gives a quality finish to these industrial-inspired pieces.
