We were commissioned to produce a small batch of bespoke stools, designed by architects Casper Mueller Kneer for the interior of Self-Portrait's first London store on Albemarle Street. This simple yet unusual design exploits the natural qualities of oak, demanding precision and sensitivity in manufacturing.
Albemarle Stool
Casper Mueller Kneer for Self-Portrait, London
Kiln dried oak was processed in our wood workshop before each part was machined in house. While the seats were processed on our CNC machine, the four cylindrical legs were turned by hand on our lathe. The raw finish of the hardwood stool makes a feature of characteristic knots and cracks.
