We are looking for a skilled, experienced, and time-served CNC operator and machinist to join our team as a permanent employee in the role of Fabricator (CNC).

Salary range: £33,408.00 - £37,120.00 (dependent on experience)
Regular work hours: 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday (plus paid overtime as required)

About the role
In the role of Fabricator (CNC), you will be responsible for running our 3-axis CNC router: ensuring excellent standards of quality and precision while meeting the demands of a fast-paced environment. You will bring experience of CNC operation, with specialist skills in programming, and a high level of attention to detail.
Key tasks
- Be the main operator of our Maxicam M3 3-axis CNC router in the studio
- Use Rhino, Aspire and RhinoCAM to translate design files and programme the CNC
- Take a mindful approach to work: mitigating risk, maximising efficiency and minimising wastage
- Work independently to maintain high standards of production output and component quality to meet project deadlines
- Work confidently from fabrication drawings
- Prepare materials and manage cutting lists
- Communicate with team to manage workflow and project updates
- Use knowledge of specialist tools and processes relevant to CNC operation (including feeds and speeds)
- Bring knowledge of materials relevant to CNC operation, including wood, aluminium, brass, acrylic, and other solid surface material
- Manage consumables and maintenance for the CNC router and other relevant equipment, ensuring tooling and cutters are delivering the best quality finish
- Work confidently and competently with other machinery, equipment, tools and materials in the studio
- Ensure you are equipped and prepared for work in the studio or on-site, including maintaining a personal tool kit relevant to your role
- Ensure your works are undertaken in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy, relevant RAMS, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working area, with responsibility for ensuring your works are undertaken with care and consideration (i.e. running the CNC cleanly without excess noise or dust)
- Manage your time effectively to ensure the team works together to meet project deadlines
- Foster good working relationships within the team, engendering a collaborative and supportive working environment
- Report to Operations Manager and Technical Manager
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times
Key requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a studio environment (essential)
- Experience of 3-axis CNC router operation (essential)
- Experience with Rhino, Aspire and RhinoCAM, and general computer literacy (essential)
- Ability to work from fabrication drawings (essential)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail (essential)
- Understanding of material properties and their appropriate machining methodologies (essential)
- Experience with machinery, equipment and tools for general fabrication (essential)
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practice for compliance (essential)
- Reliable and responsible attitude to work (essential)
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and comprehension skills (essential)
- Right to work in the UK without restrictions (essential)
- Current CSCS card, or equivalent qualification (desirable)
- Other relevant professional training (First Aid, Fire Safety, PASMA, IPAF etc.) (desirable)
